Erdoğan visits Qatar to discuss relations
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has left for a two-day visit to Qatar to attend the first meeting of the Turkey-Qatar High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has left for a two-day visit to Qatar to attend the first meeting of the Turkey-Qatar High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
Upon the invitation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Erdoğan will be in Qatar between Dec. 1 and 2 to attend a meeting in which the two countries will sign several agreements and discuss regional developments.
The Haberdar news portal reported on Tuesday that Erdoğan has paid nine official visits to the Gulf country since 2008.
According to the Turkish Contractors Association (TMB), Turkish construction companies were responsible for 324 projects abroad in 2014, worth $27 billion in total. Last year, Qatar was ranked fourth in the total value of projects taken on by Turkish companies abroad, at $2.7 billion.
